What are Credit-Points/Leistungspunkte (LP)/ECTS-Credits?

ECTS – points indicate the workload for modules within a course or lecture at TU Berlin and are recognised at many European higher education institutions. The System makes it easy to compare courses in different European universities. What is the student ID Card?

The Student ID card (Studierendenausweis) identifies you as a student at the TU Berlin. It comprise your student card and the student’s public transportation pass (integrated semester ticket, so-called “fahrcard” of the Verkehrsverbund Berlin-Brandenburg). Your enrollment status can be verified via the QR code on your card. You also use the card as a key to access University facilities.

How can I get my student ID card?

Before your Student ID card can be produced, you have to complete your online registration in the TU Student’s Portal. In case of enrollment you will receive an e-mail with further instruction how to set up your Portal. Upload a suitable photo of yourself for identification purposes on your Student ID card. Please use a photo with neutral background.

Your ID card will be send via mail to your home address within a few days. Please note: A delivery outside of Germany is not possible. If you have stated a foreign address you must visit our Campus Center  to pick up your student ID card upon presentation of a valid Identity Card or Passport (digital copies of your Identity Card or passport are insufficient).

Why do I need a TU Berlin email account?

All students are entitled to a University email account. Official University information to students are send to University email accounts, e.g. reminder of re-registration.

Please check your university account regularly or redirect the incoming emails to you private email account.
